Services Offered
I offer different types of counseling methods to help clients. In the beginning I will spend time getting to know you. Taking the time to discover the areas you struggle in and want to change enables me to develop a plan of care specific to your needs. Below are just a few methods I offer.
EMDR Trauma Informed Care
EMDR is used to help people heal from trauma. There is big T trauma, some examples of big T trauma include physical, emotional and sexual abuse and witnessing the loss of a loved one. Another form of trauma is little T trauma which is anything that occurs in our lives that’s less than nurturing. Little T trauma can include, invalidation, bullying, shaming or breakup, abandonment. Experiences in our childhood years positive and negative can create our core beliefs including our worthiness. Struggles with low self-esteem, fears of abandonment, unhealthy relationships, boundary setting, people pleasing or any other unhealthy behavior can be  the results of a belief or coping skill adapted from your formative years. I use EDMR to help you identify and work through your past experiences, to prevent those experiences from negativity impacting you today. When you work through your past, you can feel differently today.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
Is used to help clients become aware of their negative thinking patterns that prevent them from reaching their fullest potential. The way we think is directly related to the way we feel and the way we feel is usually related to how we behave and interact in relationships. Cognitive behavioral therapy helps people learn skills to help them manage their unhealthy thinking, emotions and behaviors.
Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT)
Is used to help people how to become aware of their emotions and manage them in a healthy productive manner.
